Have you noticed it's been a year and a month since Edison was christened Turkey?
At times, reminiscence, despite everything, provides enough of a stimulus to coerce action. Like an intruder in the dust, its specter appears to different people at certain points in their lives, and this triggers irrational acts. That it seems, is characteristic of yk and his newest post. For the past few days, however, I have neglected this blog and the usual flurry of posts. Both issues notwithstanding, while totally different from each other, share the fact that I should have liked them in a corollary manner for no strong reason whatsoever.
About talent, little has changed.
The reason is that reminiscence, in all my reflections, don’t have to be rational. As cognizant humans we cling to the memories we cherish in our past and try to review them and experience them once more. The simple title, the simple sign and signifier and the memories I had in exploiting them - it’s something most people could do, but it’s also something that reminds me to lower my expectations in most things so that I won't be disappointed. Memory is quite a powerful thing; perhaps this is why some people can only live in the past - while talent is the zenith of a disjuncture altogether.
Happy returns on this auspicious season.
